Last week, our team visited the students at École Primaire Kibagabaga, and the experience had a profound impact on all of us. It reminded us why we do this work and why staying close to the children in our community matters so much. Here is a short story of how the day went.
1. Talking With the Students
The students welcomed us with so much joy and energy. We sat down together and had open conversations about their school performance, the marks they received last term, and the challenges they face both at home and in class.
Many of them shared openly about what they struggle with. Listening to their stories helped us understand the kind of support they still need as they continue their studies.

2. A Simple Session on Entrepreneurship and Saving
We also had a short learning moment with them about entrepreneurship and the importance of saving money. We kept everything easy to understand—how to be creative, how to start small with what they already have, and why saving even a little can help them in the future.
The children were very curious, asking questions and engaging with the ideas. Seeing how quickly they understood and participated made the session even more meaningful.

3. Helping Them Prepare for the New School Year
With the new academic year approaching, we brought school materials to support them as they get ready to return to class. Their excitement while receiving the items was beautiful to see.
For many of them, these materials give them hope and confidence as they begin a new school journey. That alone made the whole visit worth it.
